Mission

Providing personalized healthcare to identify and treat the root cause of your symptoms and to support you on your wellness journey.

Dr. Carly Erickson

I was born and raised in Alexandria, MN. I attended Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter, MN where I double majored in chemistry and biochemistry & molecular biology. My interest in naturopathic medicine led me to Bastyr University in Kenmore, WA. I graduated in December 2013 with a Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine degree and a Master’s of Science in Midwifery in June 2014. Following graduation, I completed a two-year naturopathic residency in Alexandria, MN. I knew from a young age that I wanted to pursue a career in medicine. After shadowing numerous healthcare providers, I was introduced to naturopathic medicine. I attended Bastyr University because I was fascinated with natural medicine and the body's innate ability to heal itself. While there, I was also able to pursue my dream of providing maternity care to my patients by becoming a midwife. I am certified as a FirstLine Therapy Healthcare Practitioner and completed training to become an Institute for Functional Medicine (IFM) Certified Practitioner and am an IFM member.  I also has additional training in Kinesio Taping, craniosacral therapy, nutrigenomics and childbirth education. My interests include women’s health, pediatrics, natural childbirth, digestive concerns, mental health, nutrigenomics and nutrition. I am excited to have the opportunity to provide patient care in Central Minnesota. I live in Alexandria with my husband, C.J. Erickson, our sons, Jack and Henry, daughter, Millie, our cat, Izzy, and our dog, Charlie Bou. In my free time I enjoy fishing, kayaking, and going for walks with my family.  I am also a biology and psychology instructor at Alexandria Technical and Community College and have a Master's Degree in Teaching and Learning and graduate certificate in psychology from Minnesota State University Mankato. I serve on the boards of Alexandria Dollars for Scholars and the Douglas County Relay for Life and the City of Alexandria's Cultural Inclusiveness Committee.

Vision

Personalized healthcare for all ages

Values

Personal

My approach is personalized to your specific condition(s), concern(s) and circumstance(s).

There is no such thing as a one size fits all treatment approach.  There is not a pill for every ill.  I don’t always recommend “x” supplement for “y” condition.  My treatment approaches take into account your full symptom picture, schedule, commitment to change, financial ability and even supplement administration method and flavor to ensure optimal success.

Integrity

My aim to provide patients with an honest health assessment and provide care options that are in the best interest of the patient, even if that means referral to another healthcare specialist.

We live in an area full of amazing medical and holistic providers that may have additional expertise in a particular area that can assist in your healthcare journey.  I may from time to time recommend collaborating with such individual(s) to aid in your care.

Nature

I am committed to utilizing the healing power of nature in my treatment approaches and decreasing my environmental footprint in clinical practice whenever possible.

For this reason, all patient communication, invoicing, charting, and labs will be shared electronically whenever possible.  Also, by eliminating supplements being located in office, I avoid having supplements go unused.  This means supplements are only used by the patient desiring said product.

Empower

I empower patients with the tools and knowledge needed to achieve their health goals and overall wellness.

My goal is to meet you where you are and assist you on your journey by passing along my knowledge and recommendations.  It doesn’t matter where you are starting, I am here to help you get where you are going.  I do not require a set number of visits in a set period of time; some patients need more regular check-in than others to keep the course.  You and I will come up with a follow-up plan that helps you to feel individually empowered but also supported.
